Welcome to "Paving the Way" at
Jackson United Methodist Church

Questions and Answers
From our Pastor, Lisa Derrick

Dear Family and Friends of Jackson United Methodist:

In the last years you have faced challenges with faith and courage. You have brought your budget under control so that the church is able to do the ministry that God has called us to do. You have made a commitment to missions that has brought blessings to people within our community, in our nation, and in other nations as well. You have been the church at its best.

Now we have the wonderful opportunity to pave the way for the ministry of the next generation at Jackson United Methodist. Both the Webb and Fears properties became available to the church so that we can purchase the land necessary to help secure the future of the church. You knew that to fail to buy these properties would mean that the church would become land locked as the community continued to grow. Wisely, you decided to seize the moment to be of help to our children.

Both the Webb and the Fears property will be of use to our church and our community. We hope to open the houses there not only to the ministry of our church but also to the benefit of the entire community. Hopefully, the Webb house will become the center of the operation of CERF, who will provide assistance to needy families in our geographical area. It is possible that Haven House, a ministry to abused spouses will also have a branch office there. There are so many ways that the church can use the two houses located on the newly purchased property. I have dreams for their use, and I encourage you to dream as well.

However, there is a price to the decisions you have so wisely made. In order to wipe out the debt of the church in a very short time, we are beginning a capitol campaign. This campaign is aptly named "Paving the Way". If we wipe out the debt in only three years, we save hundreds of thousands of dollars in interest. We also free the church for ministry and we do not saddle our children with the debt that we incurred.

Please review the enclosed question and answer card. If you have additional questions, please feel free to ask. We hope you will prayerfully consider how God would have you and your family respond to this opportunity to "Pave the Way" for the next generation.

In Christ's service,

Lisa Derrick
