VBS was a blast. We had 55 kids and 40 leaders in attendance. Students brought in many items for the Shoebox Ministry, and we will be ready for Operation Christmas Child when November rolls around. Thank you, everyone for helping make VBS a HUGE success. It was such a joyful week sharing our church with kids in the community.

Smart Lunch Smart  Kids

We need your help!

JUMC will be participating in the Butts County SLSK program.  As we did last year we will be providing, preparing, and delivering lunch to children through age 18, who are in need of this meal during the summer months.  Our schedule will be for Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of each week. We expect to be serving approximately 30 meals a day. There are several ways in which our congregation can assist with this program.

Volunteers are needed to help prepare and deliver the meals. It usually requires two hours on the days you volunteer. There are a total of thirty days during the summer that we do this.  You can volunteer for which ever days fit your schedule.  As a volunteer  you will have to complete a background check. If you have completed the Safe Sanctuary background check that is sufficient. If not the SLSK has a background check procedure that is easy to complete.

Monetary donations are very important.  You can make your donation through the church office. Make sure it is marked for the SLSK program. The money is used to buy the food.  If you would like to purchase the food directly let us know and we can explain how to do that.

Lucia Fletcher and Jean Dodson will coordinate this program.

CERF HOUSE: The CERF House continues to help struggling families in need of clothes, rent, and food.  They help families catch up on gas and electricity bills in the winter.  Mark the info line of your check to CERF.

  • Our Hospitality is to be RADICAL
  • Our Worship is to be PASSIONATE
  • Our Spiritual Growth is to be INTENTIONAL
  • Our Mission and Service is to be RISK-TAKING
