Don’t Get Caught Out In The Cold!
I thought we were done with the cold weather. One of my kids needed to be at school early so I jumped in the car wearing a long sleeved shirt and jeans. It was a short trip and I knew I would be back in a few minutes. So I really didn’t pay attention to how cold it got on Monday. Well, that was until after noticing I needed gas. I stopped by a popular gas station on my way back home. While pumping the gas and trying to tell myself it was not cold, I ran into a friend. We got to talking and I got colder and colder. I finally had to excuse myself because my long sleeved shirt was not doing much to stop the cold wind.
As I jumped back in the car, I thought of the children in our schools that would be out in the cold much longer than I will be this fall and winter. This surprise cold snap was God’s way of reminding me to remind us to keep bringing in those coats for the “Let’s Wrap” drive going on now through Palm Sunday (April 2).
Let’s purchase as many coats now so that our Butts County children don’t get caught out in the cold this winter. Place your coats in the Gathering Room or Narthex boxes any day before Palm Sunday or place them on the altar rail Sunday morning, April 2.
