JUMC Safe Sanctuary Policy
Safe Sanctuary is a set of policies and procedures we implement in order to keep our children, youth and vulnerable adults in a safe and nurturing environment. Safe Sanctuary training is required for all adults working with children under the age of 18. Throughout the gospels, Jesus provides teachings on providing a peaceable kingdom for all of God’s people, including our most precious gifts, our children and youth (Matthew 5:9, Luke 18:15-17). The peaceable kingdom begins with sanctuary. Jackson UMC has developed policies and procedures intended to protect our preschoolers, children, youth, workers, employees, volunteers and the entire church body. This policy was approved by the church in 2010. To learn more about our Safe Sanctuary Policy or if you work with children, youth or vulnerable adults on our campus whether it is church related or not, please get a copy today, read it, and follow it.
